The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25th May

Stratford Chess Club intends to implement the GDPR requirements before this date.

All information the club maintains and collects relating to members is ‘personal data’. Under the GDPR the Club must obtain positive confirmation of consent from each Member in order to hold and use the data.

Stratford Chess Club will develop and publish a ‘Privacy Policy’ which will be available on the website. The Privacy Policy will demonstrate how data is used and who has access to it.

I intend to provide a full overview of the GDPR requirements at the AGM, including the steps we are taking to ensure we are meeting our obligations.
