Thursday 13th - LDCL team selection meeting 
All members that can attend please come along. I am working on the assumption that unless I hear to the contrary all those that played last season are happy to be included in the forthcoming season.

Thursday 20th - Swiss tournament
Dino will be arranging a Swiss style tournament for all those who turn up on the night.

Thursday 27th - Pre-season social
We will once again be presenting the club trophies and prizes at the social evening. With this in mind will all team captains please confirm the best performing team player for the previous season ASAP.

Nominations are invited for the All-Round Performance trophy. The trophy is usually awarded in recognition of members that have performed well or have helped the club in some way.

If you would like an individual to be nominated for the All-Round Performance trophy please forward your nomination and reason for the nomination to me.

This year the Pre-season social kicks off at 19.30 with the presentation of trophies for the previous LDCL season. A Swiss tournament open to all-comers will follow at 20.00 with food to be provided. Please arrive promptly for the presentations to avoid holding up the main event which is open to the public.

Tuesday 1^st September - League Jamboree
The League Jamboree will take place at 7.30 on Tuesday 1st September at the Leamington chess club venue (Home Guard Club Portland street).

The Jamboree (traditionally the Leagues curtain raiser), is an easy going competition designed to blow the summer cobwebs off.

Entries are £2 and includes food.

Teams of two compete in two pools of strength over four or five rounds to determine the winners.

Each team of two must have a combined grade of no more than 280.
