Hi All,

As decided at our annual meeting, the summer chess activities for this year will take the form of single evening tournaments rather than an extended tournament throughout the summer. This gets round the problem of player availability and everyone enjoys these evenings. I am therefore suggesting that we have 4 Swiss style tournaments over the summer on the following dates:

Thursday 30^th June

Thursday 14^th July

Thursday 28^th July

Thursday 11^th August

Phil’s suggestion of 2 player teams also sounds like fun, so I propose that the 14^th July will be a tournament of 2 player teams, 30 minutes each, purely for fun. The other 3 evenings being Blitz Chess tournaments of 5 mins per player per game.

So if you are interested, just turn up on the night, with a start time 7:30 pm as usual.
