Many of you will now have received a reminder from the English Chess Federation to pay your 2015-2016 subscription. I am able to tell from the ECF website that 6 people have already paid - thanks to those who have - and here is a guide for those who have not joined the ECF before:

Please be reminded of the club resolution that you cannot play league chess without being an ECF member.

In addition, there is a separate subscription fee payable to our club of £8 (£5 for concessions). I will be at the social evening this Thursday to collect as many of these subscriptions as possible.

£14 (online ECF fee) + £8 club fee =£22 is still a very competitive amount for a year's chess in comparison to other clubs!
