Stratford Chess Club.
Online Chess League, 2020/21.
Competition Organiser: Richard Buxton. (richard.buxton@talktalk.net)
Chess.com user name: Richardb58.
The online chess League will be used to decide the Stratford Chess Club Champion for the 2020/21 season.
Games will be played on the Chess.com website and all results and fixtures published weekly on the Stratford Chess Club website and on the the Chess.com club area.
Games will be played on Wednesday evenings, starting at 7:30pm as indicated by the published fixture list.
The first player named for each game shall play White. This player will be responsible for contacting their opponent and setting up the challenge on Chess.com.
Where players are not online and available to play when required, the game will be forfeited and the opponent awarded a Win. If a player can not play on a Wednesday evening for any reason they may make a request to their opponent for a different day and time be used during the same week as originally game. Any change from the Wednesday evening fixture must be sent to the competition organiser.
Each game will be played over a time period of 60 minutes per player plus 10 seconds per move. (This is not a Standard time control on Chess.com and must be set up manually using the custom time control button).
All games must be set to graded. This will allow checks to be made if disputes are encountered during or after each game.
All results will be recorded directly from the Chess.com website. All players must therefore ensure they are “friends” on the site with the competition organiser.
All players are required to follow the Chess.com rules of fair play which are published on the Chess.com website.
To give players an Over The Board experience players are encouraged to set up a free account on Google Duo which allows free unlimited video calls. Players can then see and communicate directly with their opponent before and after the game and see their opponent as the game develops. (Invites to participate using Duo will be sent out before the start of the competition and User names will be published).
In the case of disputes the Competition Organiser’s decision will be final.
1st February 2021.
